Colorado Veterans Project is returning to downtown Denver with a series of Veterans Day events to celebrate and commemorate our nation’s heroes.  This year, we are spreading our Veterans Day events over two weekends. The Run will take place on Sunday, November 5th, and the Parade & Festival will be on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11th.

Events kick off November 5th with the 5K/10K Veterans Day Run at City Park, presented by Toyota. This is a memorial 5k and 10k fun run that is open to all runners, joggers, and walkers. If you aren’t already registered, here are 10 reasons to register for the Run.

On Saturday, November 11th, the following public events will take place at Civic Center Park:

  • Colorado Fallen Heroes Memorial – The reading of the names of Colorado’s fallen takes place at 9:30 am at the Colorado Veterans Monument.
  • Parade – At 10:00 am, the Denver Veterans Day Parade will commence. Starting at Colfax & Bannock, wrapping around Civic Center Park, and ending at 13th and Broadway, grab a spot along the parade route and salute our local heroes. Denver’s parade presents wars from throughout our Nation’s history.
  • Festival – Immediately following the Parade, participants and spectators are encouraged to join us in Civic Center Park for the Denver Veterans Day Festival. This family-friendly event offers FREE admission, a music stage, kids & family activities, military displays, tons of vendors, and a wide variety of food. The festival serves as a celebratory “Thank You” to our Veterans who have fought to ensure our freedoms. Static displays of both vintage and modern military vehicles will be featured for spectators to engage and take photos with. Uniformed men and women will be in attendance and encouraged to interact with children and adults.
