who we support
Our Mission
is to empower and support Veterans and transitioning service members in pursuit of vibrant careers, meaningful employment, and successful entrepreneurship to continue a meaningful life full of purpose and fulfillment.
Our Role in the Community
Colorado Veterans Project recognizes the profound need to enhance appreciation for Veterans and their families. As the largest veteran event-oriented nonprofit organization in Denver, Colorado, we have partnered closely with the cities of Denver, Castle Rock, Lone Tree, and Colorado Springs, along with numerous Veteran organizations, to ensure our events achieve maximum impact. These events not only serve as fundraisers but also help fulfill our mission of supporting Veterans in community.
Our past events have drawn large audiences, and we continually offer opportunities for fellow Veteran nonprofits to participate, enabling us to collectively reach the broader veteran community. Additionally, our highly regarded resource page, often cited as one of the most comprehensive collections of vetted Veteran resources, continues to expand, providing a central hub of support for those who have served.
Who We Support
Colorado Veterans Project is dedicated to supporting Colorado Veterans in pursuit of stability and fulfillment in thier chosen career. Whether that is a career with a fortune500 company or a venture into Entreprenurship; Colorado Veterans Project aims to find and connect Veterans to a means of attaining thier purpose. Each year Colorado Veterans Project selects three to five vetted Non-Profits who serve the Veteran population in providing training, up-skilling, or skill development to expand or transition to thier chosen career.
Below is a list of organizations and programs that we have supported recently:
Leadership Veteran (“LV”) is an 9-month nonprofit leadership program, created by the Leadership Veteran Institute and hosted at the beautiful University of Denver (“DU”) campus. LV features presentations by DU faculty, experts in the nonprofit sector, and leaders from the business, veteran and nonprofit communities. LV is designed to provide current and emerging leaders within nonprofits that serve veterans the opportunity to enhance their management, fundraising, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. At the end of the program, participants will gain enhanced skills, resources, and connections to better respond to the current and future challenges of the veteran community.
Stripes to Bars is a 501(c)(3) public charity that enables qualified veterans to earn Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificates. In doing so, we assist those veterans transition from military to civilian life, while increasing the pilot population.
PreVeteran Mission - Reframe and Reform Military Transition. Military transition has long been a challenge with far-reaching impacts. When left unaddressed, the negative effects ripple through not only the service member and their family but also the organizations and systems downstream—employers, higher education institutions, and the broader veteran population. Reframing the Core Problem—The military and private sector environments are fundamentally different. PreVeteran believes the military transition problem can be addressed effectively by acknowledging this fundamental truth.
It all begins with an idea. How do you reframe the narative on the difference between Military and Civilian work environments. PreVeteran has tackled that question and is making strides in the success of transitioning action when you are preparing to exit the military and enter the civilian workforce.
Colorado Veterans Project is a proud supporter of PreVeteran and we want to share the impact we are making in the lives of soon to be Veterans, listen to Dustin as he speaks to his experience with the PreVeteran program.
